Our logo design is based on the existing historic hotel signage dating back to 1963.
The Diamond Pattern
Kaimana means “diamond” in Hawaiian. As a core element for the new visual identity, we created a bold and playful pattern that mimics the brilliant facets of a diamond jewel.
Hotel collateral was designed to be classic and playful by utilizing timeless typography along with our dynamic diamond pattern.
Our diamond icon was turned into decor elements for the hotel restaurant and lobby by the interior designers at Henderson Group.

Kaimana Field Guide
Working directly with the hotel, we designed a field guide of five walks around the nearby Waikiki and Diamond Head neighborhoods.
Illustrator Liam Stevens helped us illustrate the Field Guide with landmarks around Waikiki.
Along with the hotel identity, we got to update the visual identity of the famous Hau Tree restaurant.
