Ka ‘Ikena a ka Hawai‘i
Native Books is a bookstore founded in 1990 that is dedicated to sharing and preserving the information of Native Hawaiians and the culture of Hawai‘i itself. The abstract logo conveys multiple meanings at once: a book opened and fanned to share knowledge; Lā (Hawaiian for “sun”) to represent enlightenment; and Kapua‘i Manu (“bird footprints”) which traditionally represents ancestors and messengers .
